We believe people struggling with opioid addiction should be rewarded for achieving their treatment and recovery goals. That is why we developed and are actively field testing a federally-funded, reward-based recovery monitoring mobile app (PROCare Recovery) for people receiving treatment for opioid use disorder, in partnership with mdlogix (Baltimore, MD) and thanks to a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

PROCare Recovery uses the power of motivational incentives to reward people for achieving their goals during their recovery journey. With our evidence-based reward system, people recovering from opioid use disorder can earn credits for taking their medication as directed, attending clinic appointments & community support meetings, taking routine self-report surveys to track recovery progress, completing science-backed learning modules in the psychoeducational library, as well as engaging in other recovery-oriented activities within the app. PROCare Recovery is a recovery management tool for people receiving medication treatment for opioid use disorder who are currently enrolled in outpatient treatment under the supervision of a clinician.

Pilot testing of PROCare Recovery is currently underway to determine acceptability, feasibility, and effectiveness in a rigorous randomized controlled trial. More information about the app and preliminary results can be found here.
